The College of Health is seeking applications for a Communications Coordinator. This position will work as part of the College of Health’s communications team and will be responsible for developing and disseminating content via the Division’s internal and external communications and marketing channels.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing engaging content that reflects the College’s strategic priorities, and for maintaining efficient workflows for all the College’s communications channels.
The Communications Coordinator will collaborate closely with the College of Health’s other communications staff, as well as with faculty and staff. Ultimately, the position will have an important role in building public awareness of the College’s academic programs and activities, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders and partners, and supporting the College’s student recruitment efforts.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:

● The ability to create images and multimedia materials to support public relations and communications goals
● Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff

● The ability to prioritize and multi-task simultaneous responsibilities
● Analytical and problem-solving skills
● Proficiency with and knowledge in selecting and applying appropriate software and tools, including MS Office Suite, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), and website CMS platforms (e.g. OU Campus, Drupal, Wordpress, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Goose Lake campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 79, based on education and experience.
