Summary

Hyatt Centric Austin is looking for passionate and dedicated Culinary professionals to support in the opening of two exciting new Food and Beverage concepts: The Tradition and HeyDey Social Club.

The Cook 1 is an entry level production position and requires basic culinary skills (including preparation). Individuals pursuing this role must be able to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Individuals in this role will also require flexibility to support all areas of the Culinary division including the Tradition: An American Kitchen, HeyDey Social Club, colleague dining, and banquets.

The tentative start date for this role is late August, in preparation for our early September opening . If you are excited about contributing to a project that values community and exceptional service, we would love to hear from you.

Our Food and Beverage Concepts

HeyDey Social Club is centered on sunny golden hour hangs where guests can spend all evening at this cheerful bar meets European Social Club. With stellar cocktails and friendly service, HeyDey operates as a cocktail café and is the go-to place for downtown happy hour drinks. Enjoy excellent coffee for a late afternoon pick-me-up, Italian Aperitif style drinks, innovative seasonal takes on classic craft cocktails, natural wine, and local beers. This uniquely hip cocktail and snack bar offers casual and light service with an attitude that doesn't take itself too seriously. For us, grabbing a drink after work is a whole ritual, a precious moment to share a drink and a bite with friends at the end of the workday or before dinner.

The Tradition: An American Kitchen is dedicated to creating a welcoming and dependable neighborhood restaurant where every guest feels at home. Our menu celebrates the essence of Americana with a playful twist, featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients and diverse flavors. Enjoy a variety of classic American staples with global influences, including shareable starters, salads, burgers, and sandwiches, as well as expertly prepared sushi hand rolls from our open kitchen.

Hyatt Centric all started with a passion for sharing our favorite local spots and stories with our guests. This inspired us to create the perfect launch pad – a unique home base with everything our guests need and nothing they don’t.

Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin features 246 guestrooms, 3,000 sq ft. of dedicated meeting space, along with two exciting F&B concepts including an 8th floor rooftop bar. Guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering unmatched views of the Texas Capitol, UT Stadium, and growing Austin skyline. The 31st floor is the home of the Artist’s Residence, a 1,400sq ft suite and event space with an outdoor terrace. The hotel’s boho-chic residential design will reflect Austin’s rich history in music and arts, with the common areas showcasing diverse local artists and guestrooms featuring iconic images from the historic neighboring Paramount Theatre.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience is preferred
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail in following recipes and measurements
• Ability to work efficiently with various kitchen tools and equipment
• Strong organizational skills for ingredient preparation and storage
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Capable of performing repetitious duties
• An open and flexible schedule that includes: evenings, weekends and holiday shifts
• Must exhibit a positive attitude and have a passion for teamwork
• Ability to lift moderate weight (up to 50 lbs.)
