JOB SUMMARY Jones Capital's Strategic Resource Group (SRG) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting the organization's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves implementing security measures, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information assets. Candidates for positions in the SRG team must have exceptional interpersonal skills as the success of the position depends on building trust and buy-in from various portfolio company executive teams.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Security Architecture and Implementation: - Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, conditional access rules, and endpoint protection.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Vulnerability Management: - Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
- Prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities in collaboration with internal and external support resources.
Security Monitoring and Incident Response: - Monitor security alerts and logs from various sources, such as SIEM systems, to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
- Investigate and analyze security breaches, determine the root cause, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Risk Management and Compliance: - Perform risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including CPRA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
Security Awareness and Training: - Develop and conduct security awareness training programs for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on security best practices.
Research and Development: - Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
Recommend and implement new security solutions and enhancements to improve the organization's security posture.

QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
- Intellectually inquisitive and analytically strong.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate, package, and present complex topics to executive leadership.
- Strong work ethic and adherence to Jones' Core Values.
TECHNICAL SKILLS - Proficiency in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus software, and encryption tools.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Mac), cloud security, Entra ID, and Microsoft conditional access.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and security tool integration.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS - Working knowledge of Zscaler
