Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at a prestigious corporate catering account in Midtown Manhattan. As the Executive Chef, you will oversee and manage multiple outlets within the location, ranging from full-service dining to quick-service setups. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple locations effectively, and extensive food knowledge. In addition to a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $130,000, we offer great benefits and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Culinary Management: Lead and manage all culinary aspects of the corporate catering account, ensuring the highest quality of food and service.
  • Menu Development: Develop innovative and seasonal menus that meet the needs and preferences of the corporate clientele, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Food Production: Oversee food production across multiple outlets, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to established recipes and standards.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team of culinary professionals, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of performance, productivity, and morale.
  • Operations Management: Effectively manage all operational aspects of the catering account, including inventory control, food costing, and budgeting, to achieve financial targets and optimize profitability.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Collaborate with clients to customize menus and provide exceptional service.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling practices, and sanitation standards across all outlets, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Training and Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among the culinary team. Provide coaching and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, culinary innovations, and best practices to drive creativity and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary Expertise: Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-volume, upscale catering or hospitality environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and vendors.
  • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Multi-Location Management: Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple locations or outlets simultaneously.
  • Food Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and ingredients. Ability to develop creative and appealing menus.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle challenges and unexpected situations effectively.
  • Organization Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Health and Safety: Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, food handling practices, and sanitation standards.
  • Culinary Degree: A degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered.
