Job Description
Our client is seeking a Leasing Agent to join their team in Downtown Brooklyn! The Leasing Representative is responsible for providing support services to the leasing department. We are looking for someone entry level / junior. The candidate does not necessarily have to have extensive real estate background but is eager to learn. The Leasing Representative reports directly to the Leasing Manager for their property or portfolio of properties and is responsive to the Director of Leasing, Executive Director of Leasing, and other department heads. This position is located on site.
- Pay rate: $28 per hour
- Salary if/when perm: 65k
Responsibilities:- Greet and register prospects, determine needs and preferences, professionally present community and apartments
- Assist lease applicants throughout application and approval process
- Coordinate move-in dates with building management
- Price apartments according to market
- Handle, track and follow up on all email and phone inquiries
- Process applications and prepare leases for signing
- Tracking web page functions including photo and floor plan display, unit
- descriptions and property descriptions
- Conduct outreach and follow-up with current residents with leases that expire in the next 90-120 days to assist in their decision on whether to renew their lease.
- Manage calendar of appointments
- Ensure proper lease file organization and preparing daily and weekly reports
- Ensure that the office and market-ready vacant apartments are in showing condition
- Ensure that the office is properly stocked and supported with supplies, brochures, leases, equipment and forms as needed
- Conduct market surveys, comprehensive analysis and community research and outreach
- Enter all traffic, telephone calls and other daily activity into lead management system
- Special reports and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:- Must work Saturdays!
- Solution-oriented attitude
- Minimum one year of multi-family leasing experience
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work loads
- Strong attention to detail and well organized in a fast-paced environment
- Updated understanding of rent stabilization rules and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent customer service and follow-up
- Trained in Fair Housing regulations
- Articulate in written and verbal communication
- Flexible schedule; weekends required.
- Solid and consistent work history with excellent references
- Team oriented, self-motivated and positive
- Experience in hospitality and/or mixed-income buildings, a major plus
