Job Title: Spooler Machine Operator

Job Summary: The Spooler Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of spooler machines in a manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining spooler machines to ensure the proper winding of materials onto spools according to production specifications. The operator must also monitor the quality of the wound materials and make adjustments as needed to maintain product standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate spooler machines to wind materials such as wire, cable, thread, or textiles onto spools according to production orders and specifications.
• Quality Control: Inspect materials for defects and ensure that the finished spools meet quality standards. Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on spooler machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Report any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel for repair.
• Material Handling: Load materials onto the spooler machine and unload finished spools. Ensure that materials are handled safely and efficiently.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including the number of spools produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered during operation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other machine operators, production supervisors, and quality control personnel to ensure smooth production processes and adherence to schedules.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with spooler machine performance, material quality, or other production-related challenges.

Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machine operations.
• Ability to read and interpret production orders, blueprints, or technical specifications.
• Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating spool sizes.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift heavy materials (typically up to 50 lbs).
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail for precise machine operation.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating spooler machines or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
