Job Description
Summary Responsible for all reporting and analytics on insurable risk required by the WBA Global Chief Risk Officer and Insurable Risk departmental management, including monthly, quarterly and annual claims reports on all categories of insurance and LCA Insurance and the Green Island reinsurance pool.
Responsible for reporting all casualty and druggist claims statistics to executive management, highlighting any adverse trends in health and safety performance.
Review for approval by executive management all documents relating to LCA Insurance and Green Island reinsurance pool.
Job Responsibilities - Oversees processing of the Walgreens property loss claim database including the approval of property claims
- Prepares and reviews reports on insurable risk data for executive management. Prepares a suite of consolidated global reports for all categories of insurance for circulation to different management levels within WBA, ensuring that all reports highlight any major issues and problems which need to be flagged
- Works with the WBA Insurance Broker in conjunction with the US Insurable Risk team to validate the exposure data for the renewal of all categories of insurance
- Works with external actuarial firms to review and validate that the data and assumptions used to calculate the Divisional claims liability in the financial statements are accurate
- Develops, implements and maintains required administration for insurance related transactions, including the allocation of insurance premiums within WBA
- Provides advice as requested by internal customers on all insurable risk matters
- Identifies and recommends any required changes to reduce insurable risk costs throughout WBA
- Documents all Insurable Risk processes for the preparation of all reports required by executive management
- Shares information cross-functionally to improve workflow processes. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to share information and improve cross-departmental processes
- Stays abreast of industry leading best practices and brings them to the attention of the leadership team for innovative application. May develop partnerships (and relationships) with internal and external stakeholders to meet business needs.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance or business management or High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business management.
- Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: designing and creating simple queries, modifying data types, adding dates, working with required fields and/or creating labels) .
- At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Risk Management.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business management
- At least 4 years of experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
