Join our team as an Instructor at the Center for Information Warfare Training Information Warfare Training Site (IWTS) in Pearl Harbor, HI. In this role, you will collaborate closely with military and civilian instructors to deliver high-quality training on the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services system.
About the Role:
As an Instructor, you will play a crucial role in educating and training military personnel and their civilian equivalents. This position is both challenging and rewarding, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the readiness and capabilities of our service members.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct instructor-led or facilitated training courses using standardized practices to train military and civilian personnel.
Provide subject matter expertise to develop, test, and maintain curriculum.
Lead individualized and classroom/lab training sessions, addressing diverse problems and improving the training environment and curriculum.
Engage daily with students, customers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and training outcomes.
Train personnel in data transport, voice and video services, systems management, cybersecurity, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
Facilitate lab sessions that reinforce theoretical knowledge through practical application.
Administer knowledge tests and provide remediation as needed.
Participate in afloat training events, providing onboard training to Sailors on operational equipment while their ships are in port.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience as an instructor, including formal instructor training.
Familiarity.
Proficiency in Linux, Virtualization, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Exchange Server, backup and restoration procedures, and Cisco router/switch IOS configuration.
Understanding of Department of Navy personnel security and physical security policies and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong hardware and software troubleshooting abilities.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Certifications:
Current IA certifications, including CompTIA Security+, or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Security Clearance:
Active Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Content Planning Module/Learning Object Module (CPM/LOM) and/or Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM I/II) curriculum development.
Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification.
Compensation:
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000, based on experience and other factors.
COVID-19 Policy:
We do not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. However, customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
