We are looking for a dynamic Policy Analyst to join our team! The Policy Analyst provides research and draft support for program/curriculum changes and applies expertise to analyze the impact of various policy changes on potential program improvements and enhancements. The Policy Analyst will provide support across the program to help better align organizational development and programs based on the ever-changing political landscape. They will also compile data to inform government analysis, review, and respond to legislative affairs requirements, and conduct routine environmental scans of recent reports and studies, and draft legislation relevant to the program. They will also research proposed changes to regulations, publications, and statutes to improve transition services.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative and programmatic support for the Manager, identified government leadership, and assigned staff
  • Support the government client in the development, planning, and execution of assigned projects
  • Provide research—and experience-based guidance and advice to the government client team regarding the improvement, execution, and expansion of identified projects
  • Provide meeting planning, management, and support services to assigned programs and project teams
  • Implement knowledge management support to facilitate the flow of information and data for all assigned projects
  • Accurately capture and record client requirements from meetings
  • Verify each deliverable for accuracy and relevancy against requirements
  • Update deliverables with client revisions and comments within specified client timelines
  • Provide final deliverables to the client on or before the due dates
  • Support government leadership with interagency requirements
  • Track follow-ups and due outs from meetings or the client to closure
  • Draft and coordinate issue papers, decision memorandums, talking points, analysis papers, executive-level summaries, and other products as required
  • Develop executive leadership briefings for presentation and use by the client
  • Provide subject matter expertise consultation on specific legislative-related topics
  • Coordinate schedules for meetings, data calls, and information exchanges
  • Conduct environmental scans of recent reports, studies, programs, policies, initiatives, and draft legislation relevant to the program
  • Conduct weekly and monthly media analysis of print, digital, and other media coverage about the program
  • Perform specified tasks related to project management and administration

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft collaboration tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint
  • Proficient with Microsoft Power BI
  • Able to obtain a minimum of NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) for a Veterans Affairs Public Trust Tier 3 Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • DoD and VA experience as a contractor or otherwise
  • Former military experience
