We are seeking a talented and passionate Blog Writer to join our creative team. As a writer for Simply Cooking Recipes, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging, and informative blog content that resonates with our audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food writing, a deep understanding of culinary techniques, and the ability to simplify complex recipes for home cooks.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

• Content Creation : Write compelling blog posts, how-to guides, and culinary tips that align with our brand's voice and values. Topics will include recipe breakdowns, cooking techniques, ingredient features, and seasonal culinary trends.
• Research : Conduct thorough research on relevant cooking trends, techniques, and ingredients to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
• Recipe Development and Explanation : Collaborate with the culinary team to craft clear, accessible, and tested recipes. Ensure recipes are explained in a step-by-step manner that makes them easy to follow for readers of all skill levels.
• SEO Optimization : Implement SEO best practices to optimize blog posts for search engines, driving organic traffic to the website.
• Editing and Proofreading : Review and edit all content to ensure it meets editorial standards, is grammatically accurate, and free of errors. Collaborate with the editorial team for continuous improvement.
• Engagement : Write in a conversational, engaging tone that resonates with our audience. Encourage reader interaction by including call-to-actions, asking questions, and inviting comments.
• Trendspotting : Stay updated on food trends, diet preferences (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, etc.), and seasonal recipes, and develop content that aligns with these trends.
• Content Strategy : Work closely with the editorial and marketing teams to contribute to the content strategy, ensuring all blog posts are aligned with the overall goals of Simply Cooking Recipes.

Qualifications :

• Experience : Proven experience as a blog writer, preferably in the food and cooking niche. Prior experience with writing recipes and instructional cooking content is highly preferred.
• Skills :
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an impeccable grasp of grammar.
  • Ability to simplify complex culinary concepts for a broad audience.
  • Strong research skills to ensure accuracy in all food-related content.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for writing online content.
  • Ability to adhere to brand voice and maintain consistency in style and tone.
• Passion for Cooking : A deep love for cooking and experimenting with different cuisines, techniques, and ingredients.
• Creativity : Ability to craft engaging, innovative, and useful content that inspires readers.
• Attention to Detail : A keen eye for detail, ensuring all recipes are accurately written, tested, and formatted.
• Communication : Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., editorial, marketing, and culinary teams).
• Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management systems. Basic understanding of photo editing tools is a plus.

Requirements :

• Portfolio or links to published writing samples, particularly in the food, lifestyle, or health niches.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Culinary Arts, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Availability to meet content deadlines and revise content as necessary based on editorial feedback.

Preferred :

• Knowledge of different cuisines and cooking styles.
• Experience in food photography or content creation for social media.
