Job Description

We are looking for a Salon Receptionist to act as the first point of contact for customers who visit our salon or contact us to learn about our services. Salon Receptionist responsibilities include greeting customers upon their arrival, upselling services and retail, answering clients’ questions about services via phone, email or in person, scheduling client services through our Meevo Salon software program and processing transactions. To be successful in this role, you should be highly organized and able to manage clients with grace, even during peak demand, must be trendy, reliable and have a great personality. Ultimately, you will help boost our reputation by building friendly and trusting relationships with customers. Must be willing to work some Saturdays. This role is currently part time.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet clients and inform assigned service providers of their clients arrival
• Book and confirm appointments via phone
• Process transactions (cash and credit cards) and issue receipts
• Welcome walk-ins, answer questions about services and schedule appointments based on availability
• Inform clients about new services and discounts
• Update client records with contact and billing details, appointments and services offered
• Maintain a tidy reception area
• Restock retail
• Occasionally keep up with salon laundry (towels)

Our ideal candidate processes the following qualities:

• Proven work experience as a Salon Receptionist, Front Desk Representative or similar role is extremely important
• Knows hair related terms and services - such as balayage, partial highlights, full highlights, toners, color corrections, etc
• Hands-on experience with office equipment, like printers and POS systems
• Familiarity with processing transactions
• Excellent communication abilities (verbal, phone and email) with a customer service attitude and grace
• Solid organization and record-keeping skills
• An ability to remain calm under stressful circumstances / ability to multi-task
• Well groomed
• Must be able to carry / lift boxes that weight anywhere from 10-50 pounds
