Position Overview

The Dispatcher performs functions relating to the fulfillment of orders placed by internal customers including but not limited to receiving orders, quoting material and transportation rates, scheduling plants, coordinating and scheduling haul vendors.  The Dispatcher must have an exceptional relationship with all key stakeholders including customers, haul vendors, pit/plant managers, and logistics management. The Dispatcher needs to be familiar with the delivery area.  Dispatcher needs to be familiar with different truck capabilities, plant loading capacities, and what products are available at the various plants by utilizing sourcing procedures and documents.  Physical office location may be adjusted for well qualified candidate . 

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Functions

• Exceptional communication with customers and vendors in a professional manner.
• Consistent and detailed entry of customer orders in timely and professional manner
• Liaison between key stakeholders fostering consistent teamwork (Sales, Operations, Transportation, QC and Haulers)
• Create and maintain a schedule of orders, haulers, and pits/plants to Track and Analyze customer demands with plant and hauler capacities.
• Utilize hired haulers by building and maintaining an exceptional business relationship.
  • Truck Availability
  • Short Term/Long Term commitments to long term jobs
  • Manage and document performance
  • Incident/Accident Notification and Documentation of Event. 
• Must be aware of special jobsite conditions that require specific trucks, spacing, etc. 
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. 

Marginal Duties

• Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

Required

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 

Preferred

• AA degree or college level experience preferred. 
  • 2+ years working in a call center / truck broker environment preferred.
