Are you passionate about making a difference in the nonprofit sector? A respected nonprofit healthcare organization is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join their team due to an upcoming retirement. The current VP will assist during the transition, ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities.

In this pivotal role, you will partner with the CEO to oversee the monthly close process, prepare GAAP financial reports, and ensure compliance with internal and funder reporting standards. You will also assist with budget preparation and analysis, manage risk, and evaluate and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Additionally, you will act as a liaison with the CPA firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the monthly close and GAAP financial reporting processes.
Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets.
Identify and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting procedures.
Collaborate effectively across all departments within the organization.
Manage relationships with various state funding sources in Connecticut.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in GAAP accounting and reporting within a nonprofit organization, preferably in human services.
Strong background in internal controls and compliance.
Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
Ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams.
Experience with state funding sources in Connecticut is highly desirable.
CPA and MBA credentials are a plus.
